Rayon thread is a mixture of both cotton fibers that are spun and dyed along with synthetic polyester thread. The threads are an extremely processed version of wood and wood pulp, where chemicals were used to extract and parse down to cellulose that makes up a great deal of the natural parts of the Rayon threads.
